CFP: Environmental History of Russia (Cherepovets State University, Russia, on 5-7 October 2017)

The Conference “Environmental History of Russia: the local measurements and perspectives of integral studies” which will take place at Cherepovets State University, Russia, on 5-7 October 2017 is aimed at summarizing the results of regional studies and developing new research directions that allow us to comprehensively represent the historical experience of nature management and solving environmental problems in Russia. The conference, whose official languages are English and Russian, is organized by Cherepovets State University, Kazan Federal University, Surgut State Pedagogical University, and Russian Society for Intellectual History (Cherepovets Local Department).

The International Conference on Environmental History “Ecosystem Services in European Floodplains”, which will be held at the Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World – DiSSGeA of the University of Padua, Italy on 17-19 May 2017, will provide a venue for all researchers interested in interdisciplinary research on ecosystem services in European floodplains from ancient time to the contemporary age. The conference will welcome also papers addressing the issue of the ecosystem services from a critical point of view. Ecosystem service topics in this conference will not be limited to the following themes in the geographical context of floodplains.

VII MEETING OF BRASPOR NETWORK (Sesimbra, Portugal, 18-21 September 2017)

BRASPOR network is an informal group of Portuguese and Brazilian researchers, from Natural Sciences and Social Sciences and Humanities, that works about coastal zones and watersheds. The meetings, taking place on an annual basis, in Portugal and Brazil, aim to create a space to discuss work in progress and to increase cooperation between researchers from different scientific areas.
