Knowing the past of the oceans and the impact of marine life on human societies to understand the present and anticipate the future. This is the objective of 4-OCEANS, the project led in Portugal by NOVA FCSH researcher and REPORT(H)A member Cristina Brito which gives the country the first ERC Synergy Grant in the area of Humanities. The European grant worth 10 million euros will be distributed to the international group of four researchers who are developing the project.
